ADA-Mali (Association for Agricultural Development in Mali) promotes sustainable development and empowers rural communities through green entrepreneurship and training in sustainable agriculture.

ADA-Mali encourages economic innovation through trainings on business management, sustainability and ecological project development to boost local economies while protecting the environment.

ADA-Mali offers educational programmes on climate-resilient agricultural practices, organizing workshops for farmers, youth and rural entrepreneurs to enhance their skills. It conducts awareness campaigns on climate justice, collaborating with local media, schools and communities to emphasize its importance and promote equitable adaptation to climate change.

Integrating Education with Climate Justice

ADA-Mali has received a grant of €7,500 (Seven thousand five hundred euros) from the Center for International Forestry Research and World Agroforestry (CIFOR-ICRAF) through the Knowledge for Great Green Wall Action (K4GGWA) programme, funded by the European Union. This grant will help implement the next phase of the project, which will focus on the following initiatives:

  • Securing official legal status as a small business and maintaining formal accounting practices;
  • Developing a comprehensive business plan, including a strategy for commercial profitability;
  • Establishing two composting facilities in Gao, with a combined capacity of producing at least 20 metric tons of compost annually;
  • Training at least 30 young people from Gao – both men and women – in horticultural techniques that integrate compost use.
